Thursday May 6th will see the launch of the first regular Freshly Laced club night at Casa Latina, Ibis Hotel, Al Barsha, Dubai. With DJ Solo, DJ Lobito & Mr Yeti on rotation from 10-3am.

In a nightlife scene that is largely dominated by House and R’n’B music, this will be the first club night in the city that caters for listeners of Funk, Afrobeat and Latin music. Entrance will be free, happy hour is from 6-8pm and drinks promotions will be available all night.

Freshly Laced is a collective of forward-thinking hip hop musicians + artists based in the U.A.E. founded by DJ Solo, DJ Lobito and Mr Yeti. Freshly Laced aims to promote the best music by local and international artists, and provide a platform upon which the local community can grow. Previous and ongoing events include the ‘Hip Hop for Haiti’ fundraiser, weekly Bboy workshops and film screenings at Shelter, Dubai. Freshly Laced is a non-profit organisation and all revenue generated from these events are used to fund artists, or are invested back into the local community.

DJ Solo is a turntablist and producer with an ecelectic appreciation of music. His live sets are a riotous collage of sounds and colours that take you into jazz, soul, funk, brasilia, hip hop, electro, future-funk and everything in between.

DJ Lobito is a skilled turntablist and record digger whose sets span latin, hip hop, funk, afrobeat, jazz, soul, disco, reggae, dubstep, drum and bass and original breaks. The number one bboy dj in the Middle East region Lobito has been involved in the bboy scene since 2002 holding numerous residencies around London before playing to several thousand people in the UK and Spain alongside headliners such as De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Slick Rick, Pharoahe Monch, Dead Prez, KRS-One, Ojos de Brujo and Ozomatli amongst many others.

Mr Yeti has been promoting, djing and performing for over 10 years. His live sets are a varied bag of funk, soul, dub, hiphop, future beats, glitch hop, baltimore, dubstep, UK funky and electro.
