It has both expensive and large detached properties as well as more modest town houses built in a variety of architectural styles. The area is popular with expatriatesworking in the emirate and is familiar to many tourists visiting Dubai.

A project named Uptown Mirdif, developed by Union Properties, encompasses the east of Mirdif.
    The population of the general Mirdif area is a complete mixture of all nationalities, UAE nationals, middle-eastern expatriates, along with Asian and European expatriates.

    Sheikh Zayed Road

    In Dubai, E 11 is known as "Sheikh Zayed Road" (in Arabic: شارع الشيخ زايد). The highway runs parallel to the coastline from Trade Centre Roundabout to the border with the emirate of Abu Dhabi, 55 kilometres (34 mi) away in the area of Jebel Ali. The Sheikh Zayed Road is home to most of Dubai's skyscrapers, including the Emirates Towers and the Burj Khalifa.
