Music and Movement – Another fantastic exhibition at Mussawir Art Gallery with Ali Abbas!

To kick-start the New Year, Mussawir Art Gallery would like to invite you to their newest and most exciting exhibition by Pakistan’s very own watercolour maestro, Ali Abbas.

Abbas’s light airy watercolours are a tribute to the people of rural Sindh. He focuses on creating movement within every composition be it though depicting scenes of dance, migration or simply the play of shadows from a traveler on a windy day!

“Nomadic life and its distinguishing characteristics have always stimulated my work as an artist. By distinguishing I mean all the attraction and aesthetic beauty that lie in their simple lifestyle, the lifestyle that every painting and drawing in my work depict vividly.” says Abbas who prefers to be acknowledged as a visual anthropologist rather than a painter.

This acclaimed artist with a masters in fine arts from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro and a
successful teaching career spanning several years, has been a part of numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, from London and United States to Pakistan and India. His minimal compositions have won him international critical and commercial acclaim.

Please join us for an evening of cocktails, canopies along with traditional music and entertainment on Monday, 27th of January 2014 from 7pm to 9:30pm. The artist himself will be present at the gallery along with numerous pieces of art from his latest collection.

The exhibition will remain open untill Monday 16th Febuary, 2014.
