Dubai (UAE), 18 July 2012 - The spirit of Ramadan comes alive this summer under the soaring Al Bahou of the Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate, with a special Iftar setting and package that showcases the best of traditional Arabic cuisine and signature highlights from the hotel’s international spectrum of restaurants.

Offering a multicultural experience that reflects The Gate’s iconic design and architecture, the heart of the hotel - Al Bahou – will be the focal point for an authentic Ramadan experience and mouth-watering nightly buffet.

“Our majestic Moroccan indoor-courtyard themed venue provides a spectacular setting in which to bring family and friends together during the Holy Month; it truly is an authentic venue” said Philippe Bonnot, general manager.

The international team of talented chefs has created a special menu featuring an extensive selection of authentic Arabic dishes along with specialities from the hotel’s appetising collection of restaurants including Sicilia, Shanghai Chic and Chor Bazaar.

Danube, the leader in construction, building materials and home interiors is the main sponsor of the Iftar at Al Bahou throughout the month of Ramadan. “The Holy month of Ramadan celebrates the spirit of sharing and giving. Sponsoring the Iftar at Al Bahou represents a perfect partnership for Danube. Whilst Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate recognises the best spectrum of restaurants, Danube is a forbearer in providing world class materials to its wide audience. Our sponsorship highlights our commitment to be part of cultural initiatives that bring together people”, said Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group.

“The unique ambience of Al Bahou is a contemporary interpretation of a ‘great hall’ as seen in the times of 14th century traveller Ibn Battuta himself, and is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed Iftar under the warm welcoming light from our magnificent collection of 88 bespoke ceiling lanterns, which have to be seen to be believed,” remarked Bonnot.

“In keeping with the symbolism of the Holy Month we also wanted to keep this a very family friendly affair, and are looking forward to hosting families, groups of friends and corporate tables for the ultimate quality get-together during this most meaningful of seasons,” he added.

Available nightly from 6.30 to 8.30pm, the Al Bahou Iftar is AED 150 per person including a delicious selection of cooling Ramadan beverages. AED 75 for children aged 7-16 years.
