As part of its ongoing commitment to the Holy Month of Ramadan,Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road and Four Points by Sheraton DowntownDubai celebrated Iftar with cab drivers. During the hour of Iftar, packs offood and beverages were distributed to cab drivers at the main entrance of eachhotel.
Catering teams at each hotel prepared Iftar packs which includeda diverse selection of food and beverage items. Associates from across variousdepartments within the hotels, including Catering, Administration and GuestServices joined forces to bring the ‘Iftar for Cabs’ initiative to life.
“Iftar for Cabs represents the spirit of Ramadan and we areextremely proud of our hotel teams who come together for this initiative everyyear and go the extra step to give back to the community,” said ErikVedsegaard, Complex General Manager Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Roadand Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Dubai. “This initiative is our way ofappreciating the cab drivers & our partner-drivers who support our hotels byproviding transportation services to our guests.”
Conceptualized by Starwood Hotels & Resorts – the ‘Iftar forCabs’ initiative has been running since 2010 and has since become an annualtradition for cab drivers throughout the region. Last year, Starwood deliveredover 3,000 Iftar packs to cab drivers across the region. This year, Starwoodalso extending the gesture to its partner-drivers at Uber.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by hotel owners, thecommunity and local transport authorities.
